Policy language: Parking, riding, or walking of bicycles or scooters; use of skates, skateboards, scooters and other similar devices not approved under the Americans with Disabilities Act are not permitted inside Erb Memorial Union facilities.
Exceptions include:
- ADA approved accessibility mobility aids.
- The Outdoor and Bike Program designated spaces
- UOPD or any other first responder or emergency agencies
- Authorized special scheduled events with the approval of the EMU Director
For the purpose of this policy, in accordance to University Policy IV.08.01 – Bicycles and other Personal Transportation Devices, a “Personal Transportation Device” is any device upon which any person may ride and is propelled by motor and/or by human power, but which is not a licensed motor vehicle as defined by the State of Oregon. This includes bicycles; motorized bicycles; skateboards; electronic skateboards including hover boards, electronic scooters; self-balancing boards/scooters; roller/in-line skates; and other similar devices.
The Erb Memorial Union will enforce all this policy pursuant to the University Policy IV.08.01 – Bicycles and other Personal Transportation Devices.
