Space Review and Renewal for Current Occupants (2026–27)

Who: Current administrative space occupants in the EMU

Review Period: September 2026–September 2027

Reporting Period: October 2027

Programs will be reviewed on their ability to:

  • Maintain regular office hours, with spaces open at least:
    • Centers and Student-Facing Services: 40 hours per week when classes are in session and during IntroDUCKtion
    • Stand-Alone Spaces: 35 hours per week when classes are in session and during IntroDUCKtion
    • Individual Offices: 20 hours per week
  • Collaborate with other university programs and services (e.g., Commencement, Unpack the Quack)
  • Participate in annual surveys and evaluations
  • Take part in EMU building-wide activities (e.g., Open Houses, Town Halls)
  • Track and share data on services provided and community connections
  • Sign an annual MOU outlining rights, responsibilities, and applicable fees or rents
  • Meet all applicable MOU expectations
  • Attend annual space users meeting
  • Compliance with university and EMU policies, practices, and procedures
  • Maintain safe and secure working environment-Ability to appropriately resources space (furniture, supplies, staffing, etc.)

Timeline:

  • Mid-September 2027: Qualtrics review survey opens
  • Early October 2027: Survey closes
  • Start of Winter Term 2028: Programs notified of review outcomes
  • Approved programs may receive updated MOUs and/or fee agreements.
  • Reviews are conducted every other fall term in even-numbered years, or as needed to assess building space requirements.

The Administrative Space Application and Review Committee will be offering monthly meetings through FY 26–27 for EMU Administrative Spaces to support learning, gathering and reporting data. Individual consultations will also be available.
