Center for Student Involvement

The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) looks for people who are interested in learning about events and contributing to student organization success. In our positions you can learn useful skills such as general office management, event management, leadership, event promotions, critical thinking, organization, time management and more. Open positions are primarily filled in spring and summer; however, some positions may come open throughout the year. Work-study is preferred.

Craft Center

Photography, ceramics, fiber arts, paints and paper, woodworking, jewelry, and metal...if you have knowledge or experience in any of these areas, the Craft Center is the place for you. We employ students in the following positions: front desk assistant, ceramic studio assistant, woodshop supervisor, glass studio supervisor, office assistant, and custodial crew.

Event Support Crew

Student event support crew members provide conference and event assistance to student groups, departments and off-campus entities for all non-academic events at the UO. Crew members serve events as technicians, event monitors, setup/take down/clean-up crew, and in other capacities as needed. We provide opportunities for training in the technical areas of sound, lighting, and audio-visual.

Mills International Center

A student resource center and a space of belonging and cross-cultural learning for all UO students, international and US. Moss Street Children’s Center

At Moss Street Children's Center, we help UO student parents succeed in their academics by providing nurturing care for their children at an on-campus location. As a teacher's aide, you will have the chance to work with a dynamic group of infants, toddlers, or preschool children who are beginning to explore their creative ideas and the social world of friends. Our job as teachers is to facilitate their learning through play and exploratory activities, encourage experimentation and learning by doing, and helping them become responsible members of a group. Other responsibilities in this classroom support role include helping with laundry and kitchen duties.

Outdoor Program and Bike Program

Enjoy wilderness and environmental pursuits? Then the Outdoor Program is the place for you. Each September we hire work-study student staff to fill the following positions: photo and video coordinator, bike coordinator, environmental coordinator, facility and equipment assistant, fundraising and donations, graphic design artist, public relations and publishing, resource coordinator, and trip initiative advocate. Throughout the year we train students to become trip initiators (unpaid) for all types of outdoor adventures.

Student Building Services Crew

This position is responsible for working with the building manager to represent the director of the Erb Memorial Union during flexible hours in matters of the building: supervision, operations, building security; and departmental policy. The student building services crew (BSC) works cooperatively with the University of Oregon Police Department, Eugene Police, and emergency response teams to resolve all emergencies in the EMU. This position functions in a variety of environments (indoor, outdoor, sedentary, crowds, etc.). Members of the student BSC must exercise sound judgment and act in a responsible manner. They must possess composure and the ability to work with occasional difficult situations. Integrity and honesty are paramount. The successful candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to interact with others in a professional and friendly way. This position requires lifting (up to 50 pounds) and pushing/pulling (up to 75 pounds). Certification in CPR/AED/first aid is required and the EMU will provide the training, if needed.

Ticket Office

Get the inside scoop on what's happening in the area entertainment world while gaining "real world" work experience. Student ticket office agents sell tickets to a wide variety of events on computerized ticketing systems as well as perform other office duties. Ideal job if you like interacting with the public and enjoy working in a sometimes fast-paced, accuracy important, multi-task environment.

UO Scheduling and Event Services – Front Office Specialist

Assist UO students, campus departments, and community clients with event and meeting space requests within the EMU and across campus while gaining a wide range of office, communication, and computer skills and experience to enhance your career opportunities. Front office specialists assist with dispersing incoming requests to appropriate staff, reserving basic space use requests, and sharing policies and requirements. We provide in-office training; however, a commitment to providing a high level of customer service and consistent attention to detail is key to success in this position. Due to the long learning curve, this position is best suited for first-year and sophomore students.
