The EMU houses three galleries dedicated to preserving and protecting the freedom of artistic expression. Open to the public, the galleries provide exhibitions that enhance the educational mission of the University by offering a wide variety of artistic and educational experiences to stimulate an understanding of and appreciation for art.

In addition to its three galleries, the EMU has an extensive permanent art collection. These pieces are displayed throughout the EMU. This collection is comprised of art that is donated by professional artists, funded by the State of Oregon Percent for Art and purchased through the Adell McMillan Fund.

The galleries and permanent art collection are operated and maintained by Cultural Forum student coordinators.
