The Associated Students at the University of Oregon is the student governing body at the University of Oregon. The mission of the ASUO is to provide for the social, cultural, educational and physical development of UO students, and for the advancement of their individual and collective interests both within and without the university.

With over 250 student organizations, the ASUO offers students many opportunities to plan and direct their own programs, to become involved in every aspect of student life and to influence the decisions that affect the quality of education at the UO.

The ASUO is funded by student incidental fees. All incidental fee-paying students are members of and are represented by the ASUO. Student incidental fees fund most extra-curricular activities and assure that UO students retain control over the majority of activities outside academics.

For over 30 years, the Outdoor Program has been bringing UO students, faculty and staff together in a wide range of outdoor pursuits and environmental settings. Participants initiate trips and the only cost is the actual shared expenses for the trip. Our “common adventure” philosophical format is summed up with these words: egalitarian, experiential, low-cost, non-competitive, non-discriminatory, self-propelled, consensus -driven, minimal environmental impact, student initiated and open-ended.

The Outdoor Program also provides a wide range of information and resources through its Gear Rental, Wilderness Resources Center, the Allard & Casey Memorial Safety Library and programming of campus events and clinics.

The Pit Crew is the greatest student basketball fan organization in the nation. Since the 2000, we have been the Ducks’ most visible, if not loudest, supporter. We have a membership of over 1,000 students who come to the UO men’s basketball games clad in bright yellow Pit Crew t-shirts armed with a passion for Duck basketball. We also sponsor events, such as the 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament, to hold over every fan’s thirst until the next b-ball season.
